You said what now

Lets see my week was good. To be honest kind of lose track of what is what and when things happen but I'll do my best to spit out some randomness that comes to my head. Also sorry I am slacking this week and forgot my camera at home so no pictures from the week.

This week on I forget what night it was Burns night!! We had a big celebration thing with the YSA (young singe adults) so that was really funny. Lots of Scottish music and poems, which are always a good time, and of course some good food. Got Haggis, tatties, and can't remember what else but it was a lot of food, so that’s always nice.

Lets see what else, we had interviews with President this week! That is always awesome, I sure do love that man. He is a beast at all that he does, it is really inspiring!

Was able to ball up with some Chinese bros, which was really funny. All of them have the most expensive clothes and jerseys and such. We invited a few to play and then come to church. Always a good trade off haha and it’s always funny when I speak Chinese after the fact cause it usually takes them a second to realize and then they just freak out, some good laughs.

So the story of my bloody hand. We were going to a lesson with a Chinese girl but she was lost. So I called her and had to take off my glove, next minute we are inside cause we were finally able to find her. Go to get out some of my things cause I like to draw when I teach and realized my hand was bleeding. Not entirely sure how that happened but it was pretty funny.
That lesson was really amazing and a huge reality check for me. This Chinese girl loved the whole lesson and then at the end said I will follow Jesus if I can pray to God and he will make it snow! I was like you said what now. Walked away thinking oh boy this will be interesting. However I decided to swallow my pride or doubt a bit and said a prayer. Low and behold we got snow the next morning!!! Such a miracle. Great lesson to me of so many things. Prayers are answered, all is possible through God, and He cares about the things that we care about! Miracles have not ceased! They are around us everyday we just have to be looking. Been working on a lot expecting miracles. Of course we have to do all that we can first but then just have the faith and I promise things work out:)

Was able to go on two exchanges this week with my dear brothers. Elder Hoaldridge is so amazing! Man I love him so much, always a great example of being himself. He was also sick so it made for a good time. Showed me that if you forget about you and just go that we are blessed! It was a good day.

Also able to go with Elder McDermott! He is a beast! We went to a place called Dumpling Monkey! Some good Chinese food for pretty cheap. Learned so much from him as well. Really give your all to God and don’t find excuses to be unhappy. I have been working hard on staying positive and so that was a big help.

Finally getting more rain again which makes for a good time finding! I was reading in 2 Kings chapter 4 this week. The first few verses are so cool. Can learn a lot and take it in a lot of different ways. Invite is to read it and then see what it does for you. Find someway to use it.

I have been able to see that we are really the only limits that we have. If we have faith in the Lord, enough faith to get as many vessels as we can he will fill them all up. The amount that He can do for us is only limited to what we give him. I have been trying to give him my best all the time. And just like with the oil He always makes more than is needed or then I can handle. So thankful for that! With the Lord we are always enough, he will make us and give us more then enough.

Anyway really rambled but just love studying the scriptures, so much to be learned. I am so thankful for all the learning and growing that comes with being here. I am thankful for all of you who love and support me and who have gotten me here. I am so thankful for my Heavenly Father and for His great plan. I am so thankful for my Savior and the chance that I have to share these things with all that I am around! He lives. He loves us. And He is the only way! Keep being amazing and always remember to turn to the Lord.

Love you all and hope that you have a great week!

Custom baby seal leather boots and bloody hands

January 21, 2019

-The comp is good, honestly he gives me a run for my money.

-This morning in the shower I role played to myself, practiced finding people on the streets and I played both sides. I am always thinking about how I can be better in the work and so I practice things like this all the time.
-Sometimes I make it really hard on myself too, I will give myself some strange responses.
-And then I do it in Chinese.
-I realized we have so much time in the day where we can be productive in multiple ways.

-I am learning people are hard. Oh man are they hard. But I am also learning it is ok.
-I am learning people can be very stuck in their ways and think a lot of themselves.

-I think often about what President said to me about why I'm here. It helps me a lot.

-I am constantly striving to work, and then work even harder, and go to bed exhausted every day.

-I love Chinese so much. I love the people. They make it so great.

-My hand started bleeding from the cold. Had to take my glove off to answer a phone call from a girl who was lost. Apparently I'm like a local to Glasgow now.  haha

-We teach a lot of Chinese. Basically we speak very simple English to our friends so the comp can understand and then I do Chinese for them so I know they get it and in more depth.
-The comp thinks its funny, especially when I forget how to say things.
-It is hard going back and forth constantly from Chinese to English. A lot of Chinglish

-I have grown a bit since I left so that's nice. Still got Liam!

-Heavenly Father's plan is so great. I love love love being a missionary. It is the best thing ever.  This work is the best and I love working!!

Elder Zobell and the Hot pot!! Again so good. Love these Chinese people so much.

Me and the comp walking the great streets of Glasgow!!!!

Opportunity to Grow

January 14, 2019

Life is pretty good.

The comp is great, he is a quick learner.

Lots of Chinese people so that's who I practice with. I actually love it so much! Chinese is the best! And apparently I sound like I'm Chinese now. Was told by one of my friends that my accent is perfect haha.

Really blessed for the opportunity to learn and to grow so much. That is something that I never thought too much about before the mission was how much it would change me, oh man its a lot. Really can learn and grow from every single thing. Such a huge blessing!

Listened to a talk from Elder Holland this week. Had a lot of really good thoughts about the atonement. Nothing and no one is too far away from the Saviors reach! Always remember that and always live with accordance to that:) It will make all the difference!

Sorry not much this week, not tons of time. Promise I'll have pictures and more fun stories coming! Thanks for all the support

Anyway, love you all.

LOVE me some Chinese

January 7, 2019

Sorry I don't have pictures. I'll send them next week for sure. This week was pretty crazy.

Sorry for the randomness of the way I will write. Just gonna put out all the thoughts that come to my head. haha

So went to the mission home on Wednesday. Got to see my dear brother Elder Smith right before he left back to Australia! So sad to see him leave but so thankful to meet him and for the friendship that was built.

We had meetings all morning with the APs and President which was pretty funny. They are all so great. Such spiritual giants and yet know how to have a good time. That is what I appreciate a lot is I can be myself.
All the trainees showed up and we got some good grub and then went for more meetings. Finally got our companions after that. My son is Elder Willhite! He is great. He's from Las Vegas so that is fun. Learning lots from him already.

The work this week was good. A little slow but it is starting to pick up again so I am thankful for that! It didn't rain much so that was extremely strange.
Found a few cool Chinese bros which is always nice. Man its funny, I love Chinese people so much. I think they are just better than the rest of us! Make me smile a lot. My Chinese is coming along. I have learned a lot and have been blessed even more:) I can't say enough how thankful I am for the opportunities that I have here.

This week been thinking a lot about how important it is to be truly converted. When it comes down to it we must be living the things that we say we believe. It's not always easy and it's not always the most fun. The natural man usually wants to take the path of least resistance. However, if we want to stay strong in the world today we need to always be paddling hard. Giving it our best and working to grow all the time. Or else we will simply be dragged down the stream.

Love you all.

New Companion Elder Willhite

December 31, 2018

Have a lot of news. It is 'moves' so there are many new changes. Kind of sad and exciting at the same time. I am still in Glasgow, but my companion and a lot of my district left. I learned a lot from Elder James, I love him a lot.
I also love it here in Glasgow and a lot of great people have come in. I am actually really excited for the new zone. I have met most of the people before and they are all really cool.

Funny story, I'm a solo missionary right now. It's really crazy. I will pick up my companion on Wednesday from the mission home. I will be training. I am not sure if he is Chinese speaking or not, I will find out Wednesday. On Wednesday all the trainers and new missionaries meet at the mission home and have meetings during the day. Then at the very end after being around everyone and the president interviewing the new missionaries, he says 'this is your companion' and then you go back to your area. Should be fun.

So the president calls all people going to leadership on Saturday before moves. My president gave me a call and asked how I was doing with 'this missionary stuff'. And I said 'I hope I'm doing good because I love it'. And he said 'well that's good because you are going to be training.'
So I am currently with Hoaldridge and his new companion. We are having a great time.

Currently I am focusing on how everything in life is about 'how can I be more focused on God's plan'. You really only have to worry about following the Savior and let him do the things you can't. It is amazing to know how much we are loved.
